David and Goliath is a story of the Spirit of faith (David),
and the spirit of fear (Goliath). David is a type of Jesus Christ, and us. Goliath is a type
of the 666 man: six cubits in height, six pieces of armor, and six hundred shekels of iron. The six pieces of Goliath's armor are a carnal
counterfeit of the six pieces of the armor of God found in Ephesians, chapter
six. The armor of Goliath, which is brass, has the meaning of "filthiness"
in Hebrew, connoting false doctrine, which leads to sin. Thus God
has drawn for us the contrast between the armor of filthiness (brass), and the
armor of righteousness.
