Review from 02-20-05:

FEAR EXISTS ONLY IN THE ABSENCE OF LOVE

(1 John 4:18)  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

1.       (2 Tim 1:7) For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound [disciplined, i.e. self-controlled] mind.

2.       fear = Dict: a painful feeling of impending danger, evil, trouble, etc.

3.       afraid = Dict: feeling fear; filled with apprehension: afraid to go.

4.       Satan (Goliath) binds through fear. Whose fear? Fear generates fear.

5.       God looses through faith. Whose faith? “according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith [belief]” (Rom 12:3). “God is love” (1 John 4:8,16). Faith is love. Faith (love) generates faith (love). “And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith” (Luke 17:5).

6.        “Be not afraid” 26x; “Fear not” 63x.

7.       (Gen 1:1-3)  In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void [empty]; and darkness [darkness; fig. misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness] was upon the face of the deep [an abyss (as a surging mass of water)]. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light [luminary (in every sense, including lightning, happiness, etc.): bright, clear, day, morning, sun]: and there was light.

Current 02-27-05:

THEIR FEAR BOUND THEM TO DEATH
(FEAR KILLS YOU)

(Gen 2:17)  But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. [Adam lived 930 years].

 1.       (2 Pet 3:8)  But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

(Gen 3:7-10)  And the [natural] eyes of them both were opened [i.e. opened to the knowledge of ‘the abyss of darkness’ (Gen 1:2) within them that had been covered by the light], and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons [a belt (for the waist): apron, armour, girdle]. And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden. And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou? And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.

PERFECT LOVE LOOSES THEM FROM DEATH AND BINDS THEM TO LIFE

(Isa 61:1,2)  The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek [humble]; he hath sent me to bind up [wrap firmly, heal, wrap about] the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives [exiled: prisoners (Cain, Goliath)], and the opening of the prison [i.e. jail-delivery (fig. salvation from sin) /// to open (the senses, espec. the eyes)] to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, /// (Luke 4:18,19) /// and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;

1.       (2 Cor 4:4)  In whom the god of this world hath blinded [i.e. binded] the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Amen
