ALL ABOUT YOU: GIDEON, CHAPTER 46

ABUNDANT LIFE AND PEACE WITH GOD

08-29-04

JESUS CHRIST

(John 1:14)  And the Word [of God] was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. [Who are we talking about here?]

THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER

(Mat 13:18)  Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.

1.       (Mark 4:13,14)  And he said unto them, Know [understand] ye not this parable? and how then will ye know [understand] all parables? The sower soweth the word. [What came out of Jesus?]

2.       (Luke 8:11)  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. [John 1:14]

3.       (Mat 13:37)  He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;

THIS PERSON IS COMPLETELY FOCUSED ON THE WORLD AND AT ENMITY WITH GOD

(Mat 13:19)  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one [Satan, the devil], and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart [“lest they should believe and be saved” Luke 8:12]. This is he which received seed [of Jesus] by the way side [on the road side; (high) way].

1.       (Rom 8:5-8)  For they that are [born] after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are [born (again)] after the Spirit [do mind] the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death [fleshly; to mind things earthly as opposed to things spiritual]; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal [fleshly] mind is enmity [hostility: hatred] against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

2.       (1 Chr 28:9)  And thou, Solomon [peaceful] my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

3.       (2 Cor 8:12)  For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted [by God] according to that a man hath [understanding], and not according to that he hath not [understanding].

THE SEED OF JESUS IS ATTACKED FROM OUTSIDE THE FIELD OF YOUR BODY, BY MEN

(Mat 13:20,21)  But he that received the seed [of Jesus Christ like a burning ember, i.e. said the sinner’s prayer] into stony places [rock-like /// a mass of rock], the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth [endures] for a while [“which for a while believe” Luke 8:13]: for when tribulation or persecution [“affliction or persecution” Mark 4:17: to pursue: i.e. from outside, by men: “temptation” Luke 8:13: testing] ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended [entrapped, tripped up, stumble or enticed to sin: “fall away” Luke 8:13]. [Like a dead coal]

1.       (Isa 11:10)  And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse [extant /// exists: substance], which shall stand for an ensign [flag: banner, sign] of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

2.       (Rev 22:16)  I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David [loving], and the bright and morning star.

3.       (John 16:33)  These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. [Rev 2:10]

4.       tribulation = Gk: pressure: affliction, anguish, burdened, trouble /// to crowd: afflict, narrow, throng, suffer tribulation, trouble. [Why does God allow us to suffer tribulation and affliction?]

5.       (Exo 1:11,12)  Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses. But the more they afflicted them, the more they multiplied and grew. And they were grieved because of the children of Israel. [Gen 1:28]

6.       (Ezek 33:31,32)  And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness [gain (greed; lust)]. And, lo, thou [God] art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.

7.       (Mat 11:6)  And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me. [Why?]

  Amen
