HAVING YOUR LOINS GIRD ABOUT WITH THE TRUTH

(Eph 6:10)  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (Eph 6:11)  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Eph 6:12)  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph 6:13)  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand [to stand against, i.e. oppose:--resist] in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Eph 6:14)  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth [who is doing the girding?], and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (Eph 6:15)  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (Eph 6:16)  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (Eph 6:17)  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (Eph 6:18)  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

1.       armor = Dict: defensive equipment; any covering worn as a protection against offensive weapons.

2.       stand = Gk: to stand:--abide, continue, covenant, establish, hold up, present, set (up), stanch, stand (by, forth, still, up).

3.       loins = Gk: the loin (external), i.e. the hip; (internal by extens.) procreative power.

4.       procreate = Dict: 1. to beget or generate (offspring). 2. to produce; bring into being.

5.       procreate = Thesaurus: Synonyms: have children, produce offspring, produce young, breed, give birth, produce.

6.       truth = Gk: to be true (in doctrine and profession):--speak (tell) the truth /// true (as not concealing) /// to lie hid (lit. or fig.):--be hid, be ignorant of, unawares.

7.       gird about = Gk: to gird all around, i.e. to fasten on one's belt.

8.       belt = Dict: 1. a band of flexible material for encircling the waist. 5. Naval. a series of armor plates around a ship. 6. Military. a band of leather or webbing, worn about the waist and used as a support for weapons, ammunition, etc. 9. to fasten on (a sword, etc.) by means of a belt.

9.       (Psa 34:7)  The angel of the LORD encampeth [abides, dwells] round about them that fear [reverence] him, and delivereth them.

10.   Commentary: The belt of the truth of God is the central thing to which the armor is attached and stabilized, i.e. it is the foundation.

11.   (1 Cor 3:10,11)  According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

12.   (John 14:6)  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way [a road; by impl. a progress (the route, act or distance); fig. a mode or means:--journey, (high-) way], the truth, and the life [vs. death, eternal separation from God]: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

13.   (Mark 16:15)  And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach [herald: proclaim, publish] the gospel [the truth] to every creature.

(Rom 10:17) So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word [rhema: revelation] of God.

1.       Commentary: faith in you is the child born by the act of penetration through your ear-gate of the Word of God. Sometimes it takes root and produces more seed, and sometimes it does not take root.

Amen
