RECOMMENDED READINGS FOR OVERCOMERS
(ARRANGED AS CHRONOLOGICALLY READ)

REVELATION IS RECEIVED PROGRESSIVELY. STALKS OF WHEAT GROW FROM MOMENT TO MOMENT. THE FOLLOWING BOOKS ARE LISTED CHRONOLOGICALLY WITHIN EACH SECTION AS PERSONALLY READ. STRONG'S EXHAUSTIVE CONCORDANCE AND DAKE'S ANNOTATED REFERENCE BIBLE ARE BOTH RECOMMENDED CONTINUOUS REFERENCE WORKS. THERE ARE NO RECOMMENDED COMMENTARIES. ALLOW THE HOLY SPIRIT TO BE YOUR GUIDE. I DO NOT AGREE WITH EVERYTHING THEY SAID, EXCEPT THE INERRANT KJV BIBLE, BUT THESE ARE ALL GREAT BOOKS.

Hi Folks, this is a further comment recorded on 07-03-10. Since writing the latter perhaps ten years ago, I have found two deep commentaries that are exceedingly worthwhile. I believe that I have of necessity grown into or spiritually matured into these commentaries in understanding; they are herein presented in the order of reading and understanding. The first deep commentary found a few years ago is Matthew Henry's Complete Commentary of the Bible, and the second and even deeper commentary found about six months ago is The Pulpit Commentary. (Great swimming, few sharks). These authors were limited only, methinks, by the level of revelation then available at the time of their writing. Revelation is received progressively. (Isn't that wonderful??)

AN INTERESTING PARENTHETICAL RECOLLECTION (08-03-06)

God bless you. As I can most nearly recollect, I was “born-again” after forty-eight years of heathenism in August of 1989. Because I wanted to get God’s pure word, for the first five years as a new creature in Christ Jesus I resisted all well-meaning overtures by relatives and friends to read books written by other men about the Bible (their opinions), and instead read only a non-commentary KJV Bible (large print J), and two reference works: the Strong’s Exhaustive Concordance, and Dake’s Annotated Reference Bible. During a five or six month period commencing in June or July of 1992 through December of 1992 the Lord used me as His instrument to write a book about The Tabernacle of Moses which we (He and I) named “WARNING: Hazardous To Your Natural Man.”

The writing schedule that God put me on assumed the grueling form of four hours on and four hours off. Using a computer word-processor, I would intensely write and research between the Bible and Strong’s for an exhausting four hours, happily talking to God more or less continuously, and as the session proceeded, frequently mentioning to God that I was getting very tired, could use some sleep, how about a break, can I leave now, potty time, etc. etc., and He would reveal one more revelation (Praise God), and then one more revelation (Thank You Lord), and then one more (Hallelujah!). And so it went, me willing, albeit sometimes grudgingly, held fast to my desk but writing with a strange mixture of loud joyous laughter, bursts of praise, and whimpering, whining and begging a lot in-between His glorious revelations. After about a four hour session, He would release me and allow me to crawl into bed – but for only four hours of sleep (I need 7 ½), and then springing up again wide awake with a wonderful revelation (they will do that you know) and back to the computer. Very exhausting, very wonderful. And yes, certainly, I would do it again.

Our book “WARNING: Hazardous To Your Natural Man” was published in January of 1993. Several months later I was greatly surprised and stimulated by coming across a copy of George Warnock’s “Feast of Tabernacles,” and I thereupon immediately searched out and started to read other books with a Tabernacle of Moses orientation, and a few others of interest. And that is when I learned of the wonderful brotherhood of “tabernacle” authors (heretofore I thought I was all alone), mostly dead – but all still talking, whose most excellent works are chronologically listed as read on the “Recommended Readings For Overcomers” page of our website.

The point of this brief autobiographical sketch is that We (the Holy Spirit and myself) wrote “WARNING: Hazardous To Your Natural Man” after my having been born-again (you definitely have to be born-again to understand the Tabernacle) for approximately 2 ½ years, and with no previous exposure to other books or Tabernacle books whatsoever. Everything is therefore pure and came directly from God and the KJV Bible alone, i.e. Jesus Christ (John 1:14), through the Holy Spirit. In retrospect, I now clearly see that it was indeed a miracle. (Of course I knew that during the writing process as well - talking with God and all that). To this day, I can open a page and actually marvel anew at the wonderful revelations therein and say truthfully “Who could of written such a thing? Certainly not I.” And in truth, I didn’t. God bless you.
