The depth of our revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrine.
(Amos 8:11) Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine [Great Tribulation] in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
THE GOD THAT ANSWERETH BY FIRE, LET HIM BE GOD
(1 Kings 18:22-24) Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the LORD; but Baal's prophets are four hundred and fifty men. Let them therefore give us two bullocks [Heb: young bulls]; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress [Heb: prepare] the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the LORD: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God [prophecy: nuclear holocaust]. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.
The Living Bible: Baal idols were usually molded into the shape of a bull, representing strength and fertility and reflecting lust for power and sexual pleasure.
(1 Kings 18:25-29) And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves [to represent themselves], and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under. And they took the bullock [representing the 450 prophets of Baal] which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped [Heb: hop, skip over] upon the altar which was made. And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked. And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them. And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice [3:00 pm], that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.
(1 Kings 18:30-35) And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him [i.e., the beginning of obedience]. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down [1,2]. And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel [Heb: he will rule as God] shall be thy name: And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the LORD [a type and shadow of “the tabernacle of David”]: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed [3,4,5]. And he put the wood [representing unsaved people] in order, and cut the bullock in pieces [this sacrifice representing saved people, a type and shadow of Jesus Christ], and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water [symbolizing the Holy Spirit covering from “the four winds” (Mat 24:31) of heaven, the Holy Spirit being the “action” element of the Godhead Trinity], and pour it [the action] on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood [symbolizing God the Father’s sanction]. Do it the second time. And they did it the second time [symbolizing God the Son’s sanction]. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time [symbolizing God the Holy Spirit’s sanction]. And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench [herein representing Hell] also with water. [i.e., THE BAPTISM OF COMPLETE IMMERSION, everything in the world shall be covered with the water of the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:26), the word of God (Isa 11:9; Hab 2:14)].
(Amos 9:11,12) In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches [Heb: gaps] thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build [Heb: repair] it as in the days of old: That they may possess the remnant [a remainder or residual (surviving, final) portion: that had escaped, be left, remainder, residue, rest] of Edom [Esau: biblical symbol of “the flesh” and elder twin brother of Jacob], and of all the heathen, which are called by my name [“from the foundation of the world” Mat 25:34], saith the LORD that doeth this.
(Acts 15:16,17) After this I will return [the Lord’s Second Coming], and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: That the residue [Gk: left down (behind), remaining (plural the rest)] of men might seek after the Lord [during the 1,000 year Millennium (Rev 20:1-7], and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called [Mat 25:34], saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
(Mat 13:33) Another parable spake he unto them; The kingdom of heaven [on this earth] is like unto leaven [a yeast, which “puffs up” symbolizing deceit (causing something to appear to be other than it is), and pride (makes bigger)], which a woman took [as “the woman,” later named Eve, “took” (Gen 3:6) thereby manifesting aggression], and hid [manifesting deceit] in three measures of meal [i.e., crushed seed, representing God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit], till the whole [of the kingdom of heaven on this earth] was leavened [puffed up, aggressive, prideful, and decieved].
(2 Thes 2:11,12) And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion [Gk: deceit], that they should believe a lie [Gk: lying]: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth [“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” John 14:6], but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Commentary: “two measures of seed” = are the Old Testament represention of God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. Why the OT “two measures” rather than the NT “three measures”, and OT “seed” rather han NT “meal”? Because in the Old Testament, the third part of the Trinity, God the Son, had not yet been revealed; hence, the triune seed of God had not yet been crushed (i.e., opened, grinded, ground) into meal.
(1 Kings 18:36,37) And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice [3:00 pm], that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again [“God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were” Rom 4:17b].
(1 Kings 18:38-44) Then the fire of the LORD fell [the return of Christ Jesus, the Second Coming], and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God. And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there [Deut 13:5;18:20]. And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink [enjoy yourself – while you can]; for there is a sound [Heb: voice, thundering] of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink [to relax without cares]. And Elijah went up [back to work serving God] to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees [extreme humility], And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time [that his servant’s (us) obedience was fulfilled in the face of hopeless odds], that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud [a prophecy of us] out of the sea [of humanity], like a man's hand [our labors (powers) growing like the cloud through the “Hand Ministry” Eph 4:11]. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down [humble thyself, get thee down from your pinnacle of pride], that the rain stop [Heb: restrain] thee not.
(1 Kings 18:45,46) And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds [clouds (men) heavy laden with rain (the word of God) about to fall upon the world: Rev 19:14] and wind [actioned, propelled, energized by the Holy Spirit], and there was a great rain [i.e., the end of the Great Tribulation, and the beginning of the 1,000 year Millennium]. And Ahab rode [urgently; for cover, i.e., safety, shelter, protection], and went [hastily back] to Jezreel [where Jezebel waited]. And the hand [Heb: power] of the LORD was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins [“tucking his cloak into his belt” NIV, the preparative action of a warrior], and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel [but Elijah did not go in].
(Mat 24:29-31) Immediately after the tribulation [great famine] of those days [shall the 1,000 year Millennium commence and] shall the sun be darkened [“black with clouds” 1 Kings 18:45], and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken [by the “wind” 1 Kings 18:45]: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven [“the hand of the LORD” 1 Kings 18:46]: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound [1 Kings 18:41] of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other [i.e., raptured “with the trump of God… to meet the Lord in the air” 1 Thes 4:16,17].
