IF YOU WANT TO BE SAVED, OR OTHERS SAVED, YOU’VE GOT TO PLANT THE SEED,

AND GOD WILL GIVE THE INCREASE

The depth of our revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrine

(Luke 4:4) And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by [physical] bread alone, but by every word [Gk: rhema] [revelation, fruit] of God.

GOD GAVE THEM TWO FOODS OF SUSTENANCE:

ONE THAT THEY DESIRED, AND ONE THAT HE DESIRED

(Exo 16:11-15) And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, I have heard the murmurings [Heb: obstinacy [stubbornness]; grumbling /// complaining] of the children of Israel: speak unto them, saying, At even ye shall eat flesh [“for he gave them their own desire” Psa 78:29] [our fleshly desires], and in the morning ye shall be filled with bread [We are commanded to daily eat (read) the bread of the Word of God in the morning]; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God [the wonderful consequences of our obedient eating]. And it came to pass, that at even the quails came up [symbolic of gratifying their lusts of this world (Num 11:31-34)], and covered the camp: and in the morning the dew lay round about the host. And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness [anthropomorphism] there lay a small round thing [“as coriander seed” Num 11:7], as small as the hoar frost [Heb: a white frost] on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna [Heb: whatness; what is it?]: for they wist [Heb: perceived, understood] not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This [manna] is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat.

  1. (Luke 8:11) Now the parable is this: The seed is the word [Gk: logos] of God.

  2. Commentary: manna is the archetype [the first of future types and shadows] of the Word of God, “the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat” coming down from Heaven. “Man did eat angels’ food: he sent them meat [Heb: food] to the full.” (Psa 78:25). The Old Testament people ate of this physical bread (“manna”), equated to the logos word of God; the Old Testament people ate (planted) the seed in the soil of their souls (hearts), but they did not understand it (“whatness; what is it?”) because they did not yet have the indwelling Spirit of God to bring forth the fruit, to teach the interpretation. All those who are saved today are living in the New Testament, i.e., have been brought out (graduated) from under the Law (“our schoolmaster” Gal 3:24,25) into Grace (forgiveness); all those who are unsaved today are dying in the Old Testament, i.e., they remain still under the Law, and are therefore without Grace (forgiveness).

    1. (Rom 5:12) Wherefore, as by one man [Adam] sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men [“no one being able to stop it or to escape its power” Amplif.], for that all have sinned [i.e., all were born into sin, all were born sinners – except Jesus]:

    2. (Gen 1:1-4) In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form [Heb: a desolation, a waste, fig. a worthless thing: vanity, wilderness], and void [Heb: an undistinguishable ruin: empty]; and darkness [Heb: fig. misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness] was upon the face of the deep [Heb: an abyss: a surging mass of water]. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light [Heb: illumination, luminary in every sense including lightning, happiness]: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided [Heb: separated] the light from the darkness.

    3. (John 12:46-48) I am come a light [Gk: to shine or make manifest, esp. by rays; luminousness: fire] into the [darkness of this] world [Gk: kosmos; “cosmos” universe], that whosoever believeth on me should not abide [Gk: stay] in darkness. And if any man hear my words [Gk: rhema], and believe not [“If any one hears My teachings and fails to observe them – does not keep them, but disregards them” Amplif.], I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world [on His First Coming, entering into the world through Mary]. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words [Gk: rhema], hath one that judgeth him: the word [Gk: logos] that I have spoken [i.e., the Old Testament Law, the logos], the same shall judge him in the last day [a thousand year day (2 Pet 3:8) named by men as the Millennium which commences on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ as He enters into the world through being “revealed in us” (Rom 8:18; 2 Thess 1:7,10,12 & 1 Pet 4:13), and ending at the conclusion of the 1,000 year Millennium].

  3. (1 Cor 3:6-8) I have planted [the logos word], Apollos watered [the logos word]; but God gave the increase [the rhema word]. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase [i.e., the rhema]. Now he that planteth [preaches] and he that watereth [ministers] are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

  4. (John 16:12-15) I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now [“to take them upon you nor to grasp them now” Amplif.]. Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you [Gk: show the way, teach you] into all truth [“the whole, full truth” Amplif., i.e., the logos/rhema, the twoedged sword, “And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword” Rev 19:15]: for he shall not speak of himself [His own message” Amplif.]; but whatsoever he shall hear [of the Word (logos, seed) that has been planted in you], that shall he speak: and he will shew [Gk: announce in detail] [1x] you things to come [inspired prophecy]. He shall glorify me [Jesus Christ, the logos Word: John 1:14]: for he shall receive of mine [“and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) it to you” Amplif.], and shall shew [Gk: announce in detail] [2x] it unto you [“the things that are to come – that will happen in the future” Amplif.] [inspired prophecy]. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew [Gk: announce in detail] [3x] it [“and will reveal (declare, disclose, transmit) them” Amplif.] unto you.

(John 9:31) Now we know that God heareth not [the prayers of] sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

Amen
