EVIL THOUGHTS

Commentary: All evil thoughts originate from Lucifer-Satan. In The Parable of the Sower, stones and thorns, which we may find in every field, represent fallen angel demonic thoughts sown in the field of our mind. Lucifer-Satan’s evil thoughts “enter in” to us (1) through our eye and ear gates in the form of messages (angels), both visual and audio. Stony ground “strong holds” (2), castles, or fortresses, figuratively arguments, represent thick compounds of closely related thoughts. Among the thorns initially represent individual stand-alone thoughts or thorns which become progressively more authoritative as they grow up into densely packed crowds (1a) through our attentive contemplation (mental) and evil works (physical), i.e., pornography, gambling, drug addiction. These densely packed crowds of thorns eventually become dominating strong holds, castles, or fortresses of evil thoughts (3), solidified and hard as stone. In this regard, one might well say that evil without works is dead, too (4). Lucifer-Satan, who is a fallen spirit, a fallen angel himself, is himself represented by the tree of the knowledge of good and evil which spawns fruit that is mingled (Heb: in the original sense of separation), i.e., fruit that was originally good fruit separated from evil fruit, two separate fruits, but now combined, mixed, blended, united into one fruit, paralleling exactly the formation of the one entity of Lucifer (good) and Satan (evil), the father of mingled fruit. Mingled fruit is defiled (Heb: contaminated: polluted, unclean X utterly), and represents other fallen angels, unclean angels that have been contaminated by believing the evil thoughts of Lucifer-Satan’s perverse mind; fallen angels are evil messengers bearing evil messages (5). Lucifer-Satan battles unceasing spiritual warfare through the defiled unclean evil army of the fruits of his tree of the knowledge of good and evil which contain his own seeds, his own thoughts; the fruit of this tree may be known as fallen angels, unclean spirits, devils, and demons. Lucifer-Satan’s first and primary goal is to kill all of the children of God (Pharaoh: Exo 1:8; Herod: Mat 2:1; Supreme Court decision 1973 “Roe v. Wade”), or, secondarily, if he is not allowed to do the first (6), to nullify and otherwise invalidate our gospel witness as good and faithful soldiers for Jesus Christ. After all, ineffective (useless) soldiers are almost as beneficial to Satan’s cause as are dead soldiers.

1.       (Mark 4:18,19)  And these are they [Words] which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, And the cares [Gk: distractions] of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in [to you], choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful [Gk: barren: without fruit].

a.       choke = Gk: to strangle completely, i.e. (lit.) to drown, or (fig.) to crowd:--choke, throng /// to wheeze, i.e. to throttle or strangle (drown):--choke, take by the throat.

2.       (2 Cor 10:4,5)  (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience [infers something alive that has the power of disobedience] of Christ;

a.       strong holds = Gk: (mean. to fortify); a castle (fig. argument):--stronghold.

3.       (Eph 4:27)  Neither give place to the devil.

a.       place = Gk: a spot (gen. in space), i.e. location (as a position, home, tract, etc.); fig. condition, opportunity; spec. a scabbard:--coast, licence, place, quarter, + rock, room, where.

b.       (John 14:30)  Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing [no place] in me.

4.       (James 2:20)  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

5.       (Lev 19:19)  Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind [Heb: kil'ayim]: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed [Heb: kil'ayim; in the original sense of separation]: neither shall a garment mingled [Heb: kil'ayim] of linen and woollen come upon thee.

a.       (Deu 22:9-11)  Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds [Heb: kil'ayim; mingled]: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled. Thou shalt not plow with an ox and an ass together. Thou shalt not wear a garment of divers [Heb: mingled] sorts, as of woollen and linen together.

6.       (Job 2:4-6)  And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he [Job] will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save [Heb: preserve] his life. [Satan first totally destroyed his “stuff” (Job 1:12), then sorely afflicted his “body,” but could not take his “life” (Job 2:5,6)]
