(Mark 4:13-15)  And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables? The sower soweth the word [of God].  And these are they by the way side [Gk: road side] [the side of the road], where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan [the fowls, the wicked one, the fowls of the air, the devil] cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts [“lest they should believe and be saved” Luke 8:12]. (Mark 4:16,17)  And these are they likewise which are sown on stony [Gk: rocky] ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness [Gk: cheerfulness, delight: joy]; And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution [by people and demons] ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended [“and in time of temptation fall away” Luke 8:13].  (Mark 4:18,19)  And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, and the cares [Gk: distractions] of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches [demons lie and deceive us by waving riches in front of us as the key to happiness], and the lusts of other things [wine, women, and song, etc.] entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful [Gk: barren, without fruit]. (Mark 4:20)  And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.

SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Commentary: The more stones and thorns in a field, the less productive that field will be to the farmer. The spiritual field is your heart. (Mark 4:15). How productive are you for God? A natural, uncleared field always has stones and thorns embedded within it. As in a natural field so is it in a spiritual field; stones and thorns are embedded in the field of our heart long before the farmer chooses to sow his seed into that field. Stones representstrong holds,” castles (arguments - doctrines) of internal fallen angel warriors (2 Cor 10:4). Strong holds are defensive fortresses of evil thoughts that are powerfully rooted deep in the battlefield of your mind. Thorns represent external fallen angel warriors that are aggressively “entering in” (Mark 4:19), entering into the battlefield of your mind, invading you, piercing into the consciousness of your mind with even more evil thoughts, sometimes new evil thoughts, but predominately these thorns are arguments reinforcing existing evil thoughts of like kind in your mind. These fallen angels are the designated spiritual reinforcements for strong holds of evil thoughts, and are otherwise known as unclean spirits, devils, and demons who are exemplified by inhabiting living creatures in the Bible, preferably men; they are thoughts sent by Satan, which after “entering in” men, they take up residence in the castle strong holds of like evil thoughts in our mind (heart), and aggressively issue forth to wage spiritual warfare against the good angels, against the godly thoughts, which are the Words (thoughts) of God sent by God. “The seed is the word of God.” (Luke 8:11). The seeds of God’s Word are angels sent from heaven. Where is heaven? Where is God? (Luke 17:20,21).

1.       (Mark 4:15)  And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.

2.       (2 Cor 10:3-5)  For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal [Gk: fleshly], but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

a.       strong holds = Gk: (mean. to fortify, through the idea of holding safely); a castle (fig. argument):--stronghold.

          3. (Mat 25:41)  Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand [unsaved people], Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

Amen
