YE ARE THE TEMPLE OF GOD
(1 Cor 3:16,17)  Know [Gk: understand] ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God [i.e., God’s Thoughts] dwelleth [Gk: to occupy a house, resides] in you?  If any man defile [1] the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.
1.    defile = Gk: (waste): wither, spoil, ruin (espec. fig. by moral influences, to deprave): corrupt (self), destroy.
THE FIRST MIRACLE
(John 2:11-12)  This beginning of miracles [turning the water (of the word) into the wine (of the word)] did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth [Gk: rendered apparent: manifestly declared, showed (self)] his glory; and his disciples believed on him.  After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

THE FIRST CLEANSING OF THE TEMPLE
Commentary: when/if you get born-again, this is documentation of the first entry of Christ (Gk: the anointing) into us (the temple) at the beginning of the ministry of Jesus Christ to cleanse the temple (us) of unclean defiling spiritual thoughts (unclean spirits, demons, devils, fallen angels) and their physical manifestations:

(John 2:13-16)  And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem [Heb: dual] [i.e., soulical & spiritual],  And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money [Gk: handlers of coins, money brokers] [i.e., modern bankers] sitting [Gk: to sit down; fig. residing: dwelling]:  And when he had made a scourge [Gk: whip] of small cords, he drove [Gk: ejected, cast out, expelled, thrust out] them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;  And said unto them that sold doves [Gk: pigeons] [1,2], Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
1.    dove = Heb: a dove (apparently from the warmth of their mating): pigeon, dove.
2.    (John 1:32)  And John [the Baptist] bare record, saying, I saw the [Holy] Spirit [of God] descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode [Gk: remained] upon him [Jesus].
a.    Commentary: does this not beautifully suggest that the wonderful revelations of the Holy Spirit come down upon us (as they did Him) like graceful white doves from heaven?

THE SECOND CLEANSING OF THE TEMPLE
Commentary: approximately 3 ½ years later, at the end of the ministry of Jesus Christ to us, He will fill the temple with His Holy Spirit, as He did the gospel ship at sea (John 6:21), with miraculous changes:
1.    (Rom 8:18,19)  For I reckon that the sufferings [tribulations] of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed [Gk: to take off the cover, disclosed] in us [ref. 2 Thess 1:7-12].  For the earnest expectation [Gk: intense anticipation] of the creature [Gk: (living) creation] waiteth for [“In your patience possess ye your souls.” Luke 21:19] the manifestation of the sons of God.

(Matt 21:12-13)  And Jesus went into the temple of God [into each of us in type], and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers [Gk: coin dealers] [i.e., modern bankers], and the seats of them that sold doves [i.e., false miracles],  And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.  (Matt 21:14)  And the blind [Gk: opaque (as if smokey), blind (physically or mentally)] and the lame [Gk: limping: crippled] [i.e., disabled] came to him in the temple; and he [i.e., we] healed them.

Amen
