God
is Thought. The brightness
of our revelations depends upon the
correctness of our doctrines, our building blocks, our Godly Thoughts
laid one upon another, ascending into the mind of Christ. Angels
are
created Spirits. Angels are Father God’s manifested naked thoughts
(fig.
seeds). Human bodies are manifested coverings (fig. seed pods)
of God’s
hidden seed-thoughts, thoughts that are deep planted to become
metaphorically
“a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” (John 4:14)
THE PROMISE
OF HIS COMING
(2 Pet 3:1,2) This second
epistle [Gk: letter], beloved,
I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure
[en-lightened]
minds by way of remembrance [i.e., so that you
remember]:
That ye may be mindful of [Gk: bear in (your) mind]
the
words [Gk: rhema] [revelations, things revealed (fruit)]
which
were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment
[given]
of us the apostles of [by] the Lord and Saviour:
(2 Pet 3:3-7) Knowing this [that]
first, that
there shall come in the last days scoffers [Gk: false
teachers:
mockers], walking after their own lusts [riches,
power,
fame, and fleshly desires], And saying, Where is the promise
of his
coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as
they were
from the beginning of the creation [i.e., your faith, your
personal belief
system is incorrect, mistaken, a waste of time and foolishness].
For
this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word [Gk:
logos] [comprehensible seed] of God the heavens were of
old [existed],
and the earth standing out of the water and in the water [(a
figurative
concept of us)]: Whereby the world that then was, being
overflowed [flooded]
with water, perished [Gk: (was) destroyed, died]:
But the
heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word [Gk:
logos] [comprehensible seed] are kept in store, reserved
unto fire
against the day of judgment and perdition [Gk:
damnation:
destruction] of ungodly [Gk: irreverent, impious
or
wicked] men [and women].
(2 Pet 3:8,9) But, beloved,
be not ignorant [Gk:
unaware] of this one thing, that one day is with
the Lord as
a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord
is not
slack [Gk: delaying] concerning his promise,
as some
men count slackness; but is longsuffering
[“extraordinarily
patient” Amplif.] to us-ward, not willing that any
should perish,
but that all should come to repentance [Gk: to
think
differently] [to have different thoughts, i.e., change from Satanic
thoughts to
Godly thoughts].
THE DAY OF
THE LORD
(2 Pet 3:10) But the day of
the Lord will come as a thief in the
night [unanticipated, but suddenly]; in the which
the
heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements
shall melt
with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are
therein shall
be burned up [1].
1.
(Zech
14:12-15) And this
shall be the plague [Heb: pestilence: slaughter]
wherewith
the LORD will smite all the people that have fought
against
Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away
[Heb:
melt: dissolve] while they stand upon their feet, and their
eyes
shall consume away [Heb: melt: dissolve] in
their holes,
and their tongue shall consume away [Heb:
melt:
dissolve] in their mouth. And it shall come to pass in that day,
that a
great tumult [Heb: confusion or uproar: destruction, trouble,
vexation] from
the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every
one on
the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up
against
the hand of his neighbour. And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem;
and the
wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together,
gold, and silver, and apparel, in great abundance. And so shall be the
plague [Heb: pestilence: slaughter] of the horse, of
the mule,
of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that
shall be in
these tents, as this plague [Heb: pestilence: slaughter].
And
it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of
all the
nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year
to
worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep
the feast of
tabernacles [the celebration of the fruits of the harvest,
i.e., us
(we are the fruits, the harvest of the Lord)].
(2 Pet 3:11,12) Seeing then
that all these things shall be
dissolved [Gk: melted], what manner of persons ought
ye to be
in all holy conversation [Gk: behavior] and
godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,
wherein the
heavens being on fire shall be dissolved [Gk:
melted],
and the [material] elements shall
melt with
fervent heat? [1]
1.
(Isa
34:3-5) Their slain
also shall be cast out, and their stink shall come up out of their
carcases, and the mountains shall be melted with their
blood. And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved,
and the
heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their
host shall
fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a
falling fig
from the fig tree. For my sword shall be bathed [Heb:
to slake
the thirst: filled, satiated, satisfied (abundantly)] in
heaven:
behold, it shall come down upon Idumea [Heb: Edom, the
elder
twin-brother of Jacob] [Edom is a biblical symbol of the flesh],
and
upon the people of my curse, to judgment.
THE PROMISE
OF SAVING SALVATION
(2 Pet 3:13-16) Nevertheless
we, according to his promise,
look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be
diligent [Gk:
study] that ye may be found of him in peace, without
spot,
and blameless [innocent, “free from fears and agitating
passions
and moral conflicts” Amplif.]. And account that the
longsuffering
[Gk: the patience] of our Lord is [advantageous
to
our] salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul
[Gk:
little] also according to the wisdom given unto him hath
written unto you; As also in all his epistles [Gk:
letters],
speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard
to be
understood, which they that are unlearned [Gk:
ignorant]
and unstable [Gk: unfixed, vacillating (wavering)]
wrest
[Gk: wrench, torture, fig. pervert], as they do also the
other
scriptures, unto their own destruction [Gk: ruin or
loss:
damnation, waste].
1.
(1
Thes 4:13-18) But I would
not have you to be ignorant [Gk: not to know, not
understand], brethren,
concerning them which are asleep [Gk: dead], that
ye sorrow
not, even as others [unsaved] which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even
so them
also which sleep [Gk: are dead] [i.e., Christians
and the OT
imputed for righteoussness] in Jesus will God bring with
him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that
we which
are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not
prevent
[Gk: precede, go before] them which are asleep [Gk:
are dead].
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a
shout,
with the voice of the archangel [Michael], and with
the trump
[voice] of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught
up
[Gk: seized: plucked up] together with them in
the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be
with the
Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
(2 Pet 3:17,18) Ye
therefore, beloved, seeing ye know
these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away
with the
error of the wicked [Gk: the lawless, criminal], fall
from your
own stedfastness [Gk: stability]. But grow in
grace
[“undeserved favor, spiritual strength” Amplif.], and in the
knowledge [“and understanding” Amplif.] of our Lord
and
Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory [“honor, majesty
and
splendor” Amplif.] both now and for ever. Amen.
