THE ANGELS WERE WOUNDED WITH BLINDNESS

(THE ABSENCE OF PERCEPTION)

God is Thought. The brightness of our revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrines, our building blocks, our Godly Thoughts laid one upon another, ascending into the mind of Christ.

(Psa 91:9-12) Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge [Heb: shelter: hope], even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone [and stumble, trip, and fall].

(2 Kings 6:8-10) Then the king of Syria warred against Israel [Heb: he will rule as God], and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp [so he encamped his army there]. And the man of God [Elisha] sent [a message] unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down [i.e., are waiting and have set an ambush]. And the king of Israel sent to the place [a message to the small band of soldiers of his army already stationed there] which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself [i.e., saved himself from defeat, i.e., he saved the greater bulk of his army from being ambushed] there, [and this happened] not once nor twice [but often, and in other places too].

(2 Kings 6:11-14)  Therefore the heart [Heb: mind] of the king of Syria was sore troubled [Heb: tossed about with a tempest (a whirlwind)] for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us [has betrayed me and] is [spying] for the king of Israel? And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in [the privacy of] thy bedchamber [inferring his dreams]. And he [the king] said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send [soldiers] and fetch [Heb: take: carry away, seize] him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan. Therefore sent he [the king] thither horses, and chariots, and a great host [a great army of foot-soldiers]: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.

1.    (Psa 78:49) He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them.

2.    (Rev 12:4) And his [the dragon’s, Lucifer-Satan] tail drew the third part of the stars [angels] of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

(2 Kings 6:15,16) And when the servant of the man of God [Elisha] was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do? And he [Elisha] answered, Fear not [62x, be not afraid 28x]: for they [soldiers-angels] that be with us are more than they [soldiers-angels] that be with them.

1.    (Psa 34:7) The angel of the LORD encampeth round about [Heb: encompasses] them that fear him [Heb: are morally reverent], and delivereth them.

(2 Kings 6:17-19) And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see [the spiritual world]. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man [servant]; and he saw [spritually]: and, behold, the mountain was full of [formerly invisible] horses and chariots of fire [(Holy) power] round about Elisha [defending Elisha]. And when they [the host of the Syrian army] came down to him [attacked], Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite [Heb: strike: wound, kill] this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he [the LORD] smote [Heb: strike: wounded] them with blindness according to the word of Elisha. And Elisha said unto them [while not confessing his own name], This is not the way [Heb: the road] [(to Heaven)], neither is this the city [(of Heaven, New Jerusalem)]: follow me [(quietly in peace)], and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek [who was not really Elisha the prophet, but the opposing king of Israel, the commander of the opposing army, who himself is spiritualy a type and shadow of Jesus Christ]. But he [Elisha] led them [the blinded fallen angels who are lost sinners 14 miles] to Samaria.

1.    Commentary: Samaria was both a region and a city. Notable for believing the Samaritan Pentateuch which was an imperfect and thus an abhorrent repugnant repulsive version of the first five books of the Old Testament (analogous to the many versions of the KJV Bible). Samaria was strongly condemned for its wickedness, idolatry, immorality, idle luxury, and oppression of the poor (Hos 7:1; 8:5-7). It was a type and shadow of this world.

(2 Kings 6:20-23) And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw [naturally, quite like the fallen angels, i.e., like the unsaved of us]; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria [a worldly religious version of Heaven]. And the king of Israel [a type and shadow of Jesus Christ] said unto Elisha [a type and shadow of God in us], when he saw them, My father [a type and shadow of God in us], shall I smite [Heb: kill] them? shall I smite [kill] them? And he [Elisha-God in us] answered, Thou shalt not smite [kill] them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword [the word of God] and with thy bow [the arrows = words of God]? set bread [a symbol of Jesus Christ] and water [a symbol of the Holy Spirit] before them [together equaling the Bible, as we do here at our Rescue Mission], that they may eat and drink, and go to their master. And he [the king of Israel, now a type and shadow of Jesus Christ] prepared great provision [i.e., the Bible] for them: and when [after] they had eaten and drunk [they had been preached to, taught and learned], he sent them away [as missionaries], and they went to their master [and who was their master now?]. So the bands of Syria [i.e., lost sinners] came [invaded] no more into the land of Israel.

Amen
