(Acts 14:18-22)  And with these sayings [of Paul] scarce restrained they [Paul and Barnabas] the people [of Lystra], that they had not done sacrifice unto them [supposing them to be gods]. And there came thither certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people [the Jews turned the people completely around and against Paul], and, having stoned Paul [a type of great tribulation (end time affliction)], drew [dragged] him out of the city, supposing he had been dead [a type of death]. Howbeit, as the disciples stood round about him, he rose up [a type of resurrection], and came into the city [a type of the Second Coming]: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe. And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many [a type of the Millennium], they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch, Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much [Gk: great] tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

1.       Commentary: Jesus Christ is the “only begotten” seed Son of God, and we as Christians (little Christs) are now the seed children – sons and daughters of God. Jesus Christ is also the Word of God. Therefore, the sons of God are the Word of God.

a.       (Luke 8:11)  Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.

b.       (John 1:14)  And the Word [of God] was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

c.       (John 1:12) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

d.       (Rom 8:14-19)  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed [to take off the cover] in us [2 Thess 1:7,10,12]. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation [disclosure: appearance, revelation] of the sons of God.

e.       (1 John 3:1,2)  Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him [i.e. the Word of God]; for we shall see him as he is.

2.       Commentary: Please be aware of the fact that the phrase “the sons of God” is also applied exclusively to angels (5x) in the Old Testament, and exclusively to men (6x) in the New Testament, for with the advent of Jesus Christ to this earth 2,000 years ago we have become (and are becoming) “the sons of God.” Of course none of this makes any sense unless you believe that the KJV is the inerrant Word of God. The phrase “sons of God” appears in the KJV = 11x; the NKJV = 10x; the NIV = 6x, getting progressively farther away from the Truth: “thy word [logos] is truth” (John 17:17) Oh Lord.

a.       (Gen 6:2)  That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

b.       (Gen 6:4)  There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

c.       (Job 1:6)  Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them.

d.       (Job 2:1)  Again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them to present himself before the LORD.

e.       (Job 38:7)  When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?

3.       Commentary: What is the end result, what is the destiny of the seeds of us that are being beaten out (crushed) in tribulation and raptured (built up by receiving revelations of God)? First we compositely  are white flour, then water is combined with the flour, making dough in a mass for baking into bread (“as one man” Judg 6:16). The crushed seeds of us (a type of tribulation, and a type of Jesus Christ) are combined with water (a type of the Holy Spirit) resulting in dough which is baked (a type of Great Tribulation, and a type of God) into bread, which is the Word of God, i.e. we are literally becoming the Word of God, “the bread of life.” And then, we shall be sent out to share ourselves, for we shall have become a never ending, everlasting supply of “the everlasting gospel” to feed and nourish all the universe:

a.       (Psa 127:1) A Song of degrees for Solomon. Except the LORD build the house [of revelations, built up one upon another], they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

b.       (John 6:35)  And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

c.       (Rev 14:6)  And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

d.       The eternal principle of the everlasting gospel was exemplified by Jesus Christ when He fed “about five thousand men, beside women and children” with 5 loaves of bread (multiplication), and the fragments of bread that remained were “twelve baskets full (starter lumps)” (Mat 14:15-21). Jesus Christ thereafter fed “four thousand men, beside women and children” with 7 loaves of bread (multiplication), and the fragments of bread that remained were “seven baskets full (starter lumps)” (Mat 15:32-39). Multiplication and remainder (bread starter lumps), a never ending supply, for ever.

e.       (Mark 16:15) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world [Gk: kosmos; cosmos, universe], and preach the [everlasting] gospel to every creature.

4.       Oba 21  And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau [the flesh]; and the kingdom shall be the LORD'S.

Amen
