Gideon |
Chapter 85 |
11-03-13
(Isa 65:1-5) I
am sought of them that asked not for me; I am found of them that
sought me not: I said, Behold me, behold me, unto a nation [Heb:
Gentiles, heathens] that was not called by my name. I have spread out my
hands all the day unto a rebellious people [Hebrews, Jews],
which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own
thoughts [1,2]; A people that provoketh me to anger
continually to my face; that sacrificeth in gardens, and burneth incense upon
altars of brick [man-made edifices rather than un-tooled stone] [3]; Which
remain among the graves [the demon (fallen angels - Legion) infested man
of the Gadarenes: Mark 5:1-20, i.e., dwell in the memories of one’s evil past],
and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable
things is in their vessels [a dual meaning: in their bowls, and
in their bodies]; Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for
I am holier than thou [i.e., the Pharisees]. These are a smoke
in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day [i.e., “these” elicit a very
negative response from father God].
1.
(Gen 6:5)
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and
that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil
continually.
2.
(2 Cor
10:4,5) (For the weapons of our
warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down [Gk:
demolition; fig. extinction: destruction] of strong holds [Gk:
castles (fig. arguments)];) Casting down imaginations, and every high
thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing
into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
3.
(Exo
20:25,26) And if thou wilt make me an
altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone [Heb:
something cut, i.e. dressed stone]: for if thou lift up thy tool
upon it, thou hast polluted it [Heb: defiled it]. Neither shalt thou
go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness [without
covering, and thus the exposure of one’s sin] be not discovered thereon
[by God and man].
(Isa 65:6,7) Behold,
it is written before me: I will not keep silence, but will recompense
[Heb: reciprocate: reward, repay], even recompense into their bosom [i.e.,
reward justly and very personally], Your iniquities [Heb:
perversities, (moral evils): faults, sins], and the iniquities of your
fathers together, saith the LORD, which have burned incense upon the
mountains, and blasphemed me upon the hills: therefore will I
measure [Heb: mete (out)] their former work into their
bosom [i.e., no forgiveness].
1.
(Exo
21:23-25) And if any mischief
follow, then thou shalt give life for life, Eye for eye, tooth for tooth,
hand for hand, foot for foot, Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for
stripe.
2.
(John
12:48) He that rejecteth me, and
receiveth not my words [Gk: rhema] [(revelations); fruit; Grace],
hath one that judgeth him: the word [Gk: logos] [seed; Law] that I
have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
(Isa 65:8-10) Thus
saith the LORD, As the new wine is found in the cluster [Heb: a
bunch of grapes or other fruit] [the believing Gentile is found in the Jewish
cluster] [1], and one saith, Destroy it not; for a blessing is in it:
so will I do for my servants' sakes, that I may not destroy them all. And I
will bring forth a seed [2] out of Jacob [the
sheep], and out of Judah [the shepherds] an inheritor
of my mountains: and mine elect shall inherit it, and my servants shall
dwell there. And Sharon shall be a fold of flocks, and the valley of
Achor a place for the herds to lie down in, for my people that have
sought me.
1.
(Rom 2:28,29) For
he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which
is outward in the flesh: But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and
circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the
letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
2.
(Psa 22:30,31) A
seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness [O.T. Jews
did not proselytize; N.T. Jews (us) do] unto a people that shall be born,
that he hath done this.
a.
Commentary: “A seed shall serve him” = the
“Christ” generation, the fourteenth generation (or the forty-second
generation if you count the names accurately) extending from Jesus Christ’s
death and concurrent gift of the Holy Spirit unto the present (Mat
1:17), a spiritual generation. “Jesus” Himself is the
thirteenth generation (or forty-first).
(Isa 65:11,12) But
ye are they that forsake the LORD, that
forget my holy mountain, that prepare a table for
that troop, and that furnish the drink offering unto that
number. Therefore will I number you to the sword, and ye shall all bow down
to the slaughter: because when I called, ye did not answer; when I
spake, ye did not hear; but did evil before mine eyes,
and did choose that wherein I delighted not.
WHERE WE ARE
GOING
(Isa 65:13-16)
Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, my servants shall
eat, but ye shall be hungry: behold, my servants shall drink,
but ye shall be thirsty: behold, my servants shall rejoice, but ye
shall be ashamed: Behold, my servants shall sing for joy of heart,
but ye shall cry for sorrow of heart, and shall howl for vexation of spirit. And
ye shall leave your name for a curse unto my chosen: for the Lord GOD
shall slay thee, and call his servants by another name [1]:
That he who blesseth himself in the earth shall bless himself in the God of
truth; and he that sweareth in the earth shall swear by the God of truth;
because the former troubles are forgotten, and because they are hid
from mine eyes.
1.
(Rev 2:17) He that
hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him
that overcometh [the evil thoughts (fallen angels) residing in the
“strong holds” of your mind] will I give to eat of the hidden manna [i.e.,
revelations], and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a
new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
THE
MILLENNIUM KINGDOM (good things, righteousness)
(Isa 65:17-23) For,
behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be
remembered, nor come into mind [1]. But be ye glad and rejoice for
ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and
her people a joy. And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the
voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying. There
shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled
his days [2]: for the child shall die an hundred
years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards,
and eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall
not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people,
and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall
not labour in vain, nor bring forth for trouble; for they are the
seed of the blessed of the LORD, and their offspring with them.
1.
(2 Pet 3:10-14) But
the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the
heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall
melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein
shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved,
what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the
heavens being on fire shall be dissolved [Gk: destroyed,
melted], and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless
we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein
dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look
for such things, be diligent [Gk: make an effort: endeavor, labor,
study] that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

The Full Life Study Bible: “an infant of days” =
Although death will exist in the millennial kingdom, life spans will be much
longer than they are now. A one-hundred-year old person will still be considered
a youth and those who die before that age will be considered accursed.
(Isa 65:24,25) And
it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer [“ONENESS,”
THE MIND OF CHRIST]; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear. The
wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the
bullock [“PEACE, ORDER, HARMONY,” LOVE REIGNS]: and dust [perhaps
an allusion to the still unsaved] shall be the serpent's meat. They
shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain, saith the LORD.
Amen
