IF ANY MAN HAVE EARS TO HEAR, LET HIM HEAR. (Mark 4:23)

This message may be viewed live streaming video at www.tabernacleofmoses.org commencing today Sunday at 11:00am, and repeated 24/7 for one week; thereafter, the audio and notes without video are archived.

The depth of our revelations depends upon the correctness of our doctrines.

(Mark 4:24,25 KJV)  And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given. For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.

  1. (Mark 4:24,25 Amplified Bible)  And He said unto them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you, and more [besides] will be given to you who hear. For to him who has will more be given, and from him who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away (by force),

(Mar 4:24,25 KJV)  And he said unto them, Take heed [Gk: behold, beware, perceive] what ye hear [Gk: understand] [historically and generally, until the 1611 printing, the Bible was an “oral” tradition]: with what measure [degree of importance] ye mete it [gauge it, esteem it], it shall be measured [in return, measured back] to you [good for good, bad for bad]: and unto you that hear [Gk: understand] shall more be given. For he that hath [understanding], to him shall be given [more understanding]: and he that hath not [understanding], from him shall be taken even that [understanding] which he hath.

1.       (Mat 13:19)  When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.

2.       (Mat 13:23)  But he that received seed into the good ground [the only type of ground that is saved, born-again. Why? Because it “beareth fruit.”] is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

3.       The Full Life Study Bible: Jesus states a principle of His kingdom here. Believers must continue to acquire truth and grace or they will lose even what they have. Growth in grace or spiritual decline may be hardly perceptible in the lives of many. Nevertheless, it is a fact that a Christian either grows or degenerates. The peril of final apostasy increases in proportion as one declines spiritually.

4.       (2 Pet 3:16-18)  As also in all his [Paul’s] epistles [Gk: letters], speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable [Gk: unfixed, vacillating] wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before [having heard them, you are now responsible], beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness [Gk: stability]. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

    1. wrest = Gk: to wrench, (specifically) to torture (by the rack), fig. to pervert /// to twist, turn quite around or reverse (lit. or fig.): - convert, turn (again, back again, self, self about)

(Mar 4:26-29 KJV)  And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground; And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle, because the harvest is come.

(Mar 4:26-29 KJV)  And he said, So is [alike to the previous is] the kingdom of God, as if a man [i.e., you, rather than “the Son of man” Mat 13:37] should cast seed [“The seed is the word of God” Luke 8:11] into the ground [should cast (read) the words of the Bible into the ground of his heart; “that (seed) which was sown in his heart” Mat 13:19]; And should sleep, and rise night and day [indicating steady frequent repetition], and the seed should spring [Gk: sprout: bud, spring up] and grow up [Gk: lengthen, enlarge] [mature], he knoweth not how [secondarily emphasizing “a man” doing this for Jesus would certainly “know how”]. For the earth [the female recipient of the seed] bringeth forth fruit [the matured (understood) word of God that has been watered by the internal Holy Spirit] of herself [her pregnancy is delivered]; first the blade [stalk], then the ear [head], after that the full [Gk: complete] corn [kernels] in the ear [head]. But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he putteth in the sickle [Gk: the reaping] [“the reapers are the angels” Mat 13:39], because the harvest is come [according to God’s design upon your life “before the foundation (Gk: conception) of the world” Eph 1:4].

  1. (2 Tim 2:15)  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word [Gk: logos] of truth.
    1. study = Gk: to use speed, to make effort, be prompt or earnest: - be diligent, endeavor, labor /// to “speed” (“study”), urge on diligently or earnestly; to await eagerly: - (make, with) haste unto.
    2. dividing = Gk:  to make a straight cut, (fig,) to dissect (expound) correctly (the divine message) /// (to cut; more comprehensive or decisive than G2875, as if by a single stroke; whereas that implies repeated blows, like hacking); more keen: - sharper.
  2. (Eph 1:3-6)  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation [Gk: conception] of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love: Having predestinated [Gk: pre-determined] us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

Amen
