ABOUT YOU: GIDEON, CHAPTER 29 THE PARABLE OF THE SOWER IN GENESIS 1:1-4 05-02-04 Diagram(Gen
1:1-4) In the beginning God
created the heaven and the earth. And the earth
was without form [waste: confusion,
wilderness], and void; and darkness
[the dark; fig. misery, destruction,
death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness = SOUL]
was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the
face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light
[illumination (in every sense,
including lightning, happiness, etc.): bright, clear, + day, morning,
sun = SPIRIT]. And God saw the
light, that it was good [beautiful]:
and God divided
[(separate, distinguish, differ,
select): sever (out), X utterly] the
light [spirit] from
the darkness [soul]. 1.
(1 John 1:5) This then is
the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that
God is light [to shine or
make manifest, espec. by rays; luminousness], and in him is no
darkness at all. 2.
(John 8:12) Then spake
Jesus again unto them, saying, I am
the light of the world [kosmos;
cosmos: universe]: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but
shall have the light of life. 3.
(John 9:5) As long as I am
in the world, I am the light of the
world [kosmos]. 4.
(Mat 5:14) Ye
are the light of the world [kosmos].
A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 5.
(John 4:24) God
is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and
in truth. 6.
(John 16:13) Howbeit when
he, the Spirit of truth, is come,
he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but
whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will show you things to
come. [1 John 2:27] 7.
(1 Pet 2:9) But ye are a
chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that
ye should show forth the praises of him who
hath called you out of darkness
into his marvellous light: 8.
(Eccl 12:7) [The
final division of the spirit (light) from the darkness (soul):] Then shall
the dust [soul] return to
the earth as it was: and the spirit
shall return unto God who gave it. [“that
God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are
beasts.” Eccl 3:18b] (Mark
4:13,14) And he said unto them, Know
ye [eido, i'-do; be aware,
perceive, understand] not this parable? and how then will ye know [ginosko,
ghin-oce'-ko; understand] all parables [ALL
PARABLES]? The sower soweth the
word [logos]. 1.
