Preparation (training) for battle is dramatically intensified during the short (3 ½ years in type) transitional period beginning with the 5th Seal of Great Tribulation, reaching its zenith and conclusion with the Second Advent of Jesus Christ, which corresponds with His opening of the 6th Seal and the sealing of the saints with the fullness of the Holy Spirit, for He “shall be revealed in us” (Rom 8:18 & 1 Thes 1:7,10,12).

SEALED (-ING)

(2 Cor 1:22)  [God] Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts [Mat 13:19].

1.       sealed = Gk: to stamp (with a signet or private mark) for security or preservation; by impl. to keep secret, to attest: (set a, set to) seal up /// a signet (as fencing in or protecting from misappropriation).

2.       (Gen 2:7,8) And the LORD God formed man of the dust [mud] of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.  And the LORD God planted [i.e. sowed seed into] a garden [(as fenced) /// to hedge about, i.e. (gen.) protect: defend] eastward in Eden [delight]; and there he put the man whom he had formed [(through the squeezing into shape); to mould into a form; espec. as a potter].

3.       “the earnest” = a pledge, i.e. part of the purchase-money or property given in advance as security for the rest. [2 Cor 5:5)]

4.       (Eph 1:13,14)  [In Christ] In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard [Rom 10:17] the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed [John 3:16], ye were sealed [2 Cor 1:22] with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

TRAINED (-ING)

i.e. that which happens, or is supposed to happen, inside the garden

(Gen 2:15)  And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it [serve it] and to keep it [guard: protect it]. [“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost” 1 Cor 6:19]

1.       (Prov 22:6)  Train up [to narrow; fig. to initiate or discipline: dedicate] a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

2.       (Eph 6:15)  And [having] your feet shod [to bind under one's feet, i.e. put on shoes or sandals: bind on /// under, beneath & bind] with the preparation [to prepare: make ready] of the gospel of peace [one, peace, quietness, rest, + set at one again];

3.       (2 Tim 2:15)  Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman [a toiler; fig. a teacher: labourer] that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word [logos] of truth.

4.       dividing = Gk: to make a straight cut, i.e. (fig.) to dissect (expound) correctly (the divine message): rightly divide /// (to cut; more comprehensive or decisive than G2875, as if by a single stroke; whereas that implies repeated blows, like hacking); more keen:--sharper.

5.       (Heb 4:12)  For the word [logos] of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

6.       (Eph 6:17)  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word [rhema] of God:

7.       “The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.” (Judg 7:18; 20).

8.      (1 Cor 13:9-12)  For we know in part, and we prophesy in part [i.e. with “the earnest of the Spirit” 2 Cor I:22; 5:5 & Eph 1:14]. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through [by occasion of] a glass [mirror], darkly [i.e. I cannot  discern who I really am]; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known [“for one star differeth from another star in glory.” 1 Cor 15:41].

9.      (1 John 3:2)  Beloved, now are we the sons [teknon; children: sons and daughters] of God, and it doth not yet appear [render apparent: manifest] what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

Amen
