Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel is come unto me: and I have also seen the oppression [distress /// to press, crush, force] wherewith the Egyptians oppress them. Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt. 1. (Mark 16:15) And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Exo 3:11,12) And Moses said unto God [`elohiym], Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he [God] said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token [sign, signal] unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain. (Exo 3:13-16) And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM [to exist, be] hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations. Go, and gather the elders of Israel together, and say unto them, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared unto me, saying, I have surely visited you, and seen that which is done to you in Egypt: ORIGINAL SIN (Exo 4:1-5) And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken [to hear intelligently] unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee. And he said, Cast it on the ground [“And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth:” Rev 12:4]. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it. And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand: That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee. 1. rod = Heb: a branch (as extending); fig. a tribe; also a rod, whether for chastising (fig. correction), ruling (a sceptre), throwing (a lance), or walking (a staff; fig. a support of life, e.g. bread):--rod, staff, tribe /// to stretch or spread out:-- take (aside), turn (aside, away), wrest, cause to yield. 2. Wilson’s Dictionary of Bible Types: Leprosy = This disease is a type of sin from the standpoint of its being incurable and defiling. In nearly every case of healing, the leper is said to be “cleansed.” One of the outstanding features of this disease was its defiling influence on others. The leper must live a separated life. He must wear a cloth over his mouth and cry “unclean.” He must be shut out of the camp. All this is true about an unsaved man as regards his relationship to heaven. He cannot enter heaven because of his defilement which is hopeless. Only God can remove it, only God has the remedy. JUDGMENT (Exo 4:8,9) And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land. 1.
