THE COVERING OF GOD

(Eph 6:10)  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. (Eph 6:11)  Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles [trickery: lie in wait] of the devil. (Eph 6:12)  For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. (Eph 6:13)  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand [to stand against, i.e. oppose: resist] in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. (Eph 6:14)  Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; (Eph 6:15)  And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; (Eph 6:16)  Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. (Eph 6:17)  And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: (Eph 6:18)  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

1.       full armour = Gk: panoplia; full armor ("panoply"): all (whole) armour.

2.       panoply = Dict: 1. a complete suit of armor. 2. a complete covering or array of something.

WE ARE SHUT IN FOR OUR FORMATION, PROTECTION, AND RESTRAINT

(Job 1:9,10)  Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job [hated, i.e. persecuted] fear [to revere] God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

1.       hedge = Heb: shut in (for formation, protection, and restraint) [the ark, a type of cocoon].

2.       (Psa 18:2)  The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler [shield], and the horn [power] of my salvation, and my high tower [a cliff (or other lofty or inaccessible place); abstr. altitude; fig. a refuge: defense, high fort (tower), refuge].

3.       (Psa 34:7)  The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him [who revere and worship Him with awe], and delivereth them.

Amen
